 Daphne' PyottMinimize

Daphne’ was born in Kimberley but did her schooling in East London and Durban. She married Stan and they had two boys, Sean and Craig. They lived in Durban until 1981 when they moved to Johannesburg. Daphne’ started her working career as a typist at Natal Printing in Durban. She then worked for the Advertising Manager of the daily News. She started her own printing company operating from her home in 1970. She was responsible for everything from the cold selling to the typing and actual physical printing of the documents. The company grew to a size that she would have to seek alternative premises, as she was not allowed to employ staff at home so the company was sold.

She then assisted with opening a branch of an outdoor advertising firm, Metropolitan Outdoor Advertising Company in Durban and worked for them for 2 years. When Stan was transferred to Johannesburg she was fortunate to get a transfer to the Metropolitan Outdoor Advertising Company’s offices in Johannesburg. She was in the Outdoor Advertising market for 6 years when she joined Alexander Forbes as a Personal Assistant to the senior person of the marine department. Her career path changed when the various marine departments in Price Forbes were amalgamated and Transportation Risk Management Services was formed under the direction of Victor Vaz. Daphne was made the office administrator. After a couple of years she became the Human Resources manager for Transportation Risk Management Services. 1999 saw the formation o Eikos Risk Applications and she was asked to join this dynamic team to set up an international Human Resources Department. Daphne’ enjoys knitting and needle work.
